Thus, net neutrality is all about treating the content of the internet equally. It means the big websites like the Netflix and Amazon will not get the prospect of treating the users differently. The carriers of the information will not be allowed to seek for more money for the services rendered to the citizens. It is believed that the citizens in the United States mostly seek for broadband services as compared to other technologies. It leads to net neutrality causing heated deliberation due to the superiority of the technologies that is the cable and DSL. The two technologies are in the mission of exploiting the consumers by charging more for the content they provide. The cable and DSL companies are planning to provide faster internet connection to the organization or individuals that pay a premium or the preferred business partners. It makes net neutrality a theme of distress by the citizens of the United States of America. It is a dispute that commenced in 1990 among the network user and the service providers. It is still being debated by the politicians and citizens of the country. They aim at getting a solution to the net neutrality that will be embraced by the whole world.The net neutrality has been opposed greatly by the internet service providers like IBM, Intel, Juniper, and Cisco. The organizations claim that the net neutrality will preclude the investment in the broadband infrastructure. They argue that data discrimination pro vides a plat form of quality services unlike making the net neutral to every individual. The citizens of the United States stress that by making the net neutral will lead to low quality of services from the provider like speed and content of the information displayed in the search sites. The service and content providers will not enhance the data given to the citizens. The opponents also claim the net neutrality is manipulation of data by the administrators of the President Barack Obama. It is will make the data be monitored by the government and any illegal content filtered from the public. It is an issue of discontent by the opponents of the net neutrality.Information is power. Many people believe that every citizen has the right to access information from all corners of the world. The Internet is the power to this information since it connects people regardless of the geographical, political and ideologies origin. However, the net neutrality will be disadvantage to the entire world due to the special notion of the country by individuals.Net neutrality will act as cordon to high speed, free video conferencing and better cell phone services. There is diversity in the way every individual grasps the issue of net neutrality. The politicians stand out to either support or oppose the issue of net neutrality. The Republican politician Bill Clinton backs the enactment of the net neutrality. According to her the net neutrali ty will be beneficial to the citizens of the United States. The small business and the consumers in the region will be protected from the service providers who impose higher pay. It will allow the economy to bloom. Hence, the internet has to be open and not -discriminatory to all the persons involved. The President Barack Obama is regarded to be the biggest supporter of the net neutrality. He goes ahead to advise the FCC to reclassify the internet services as a utility under Title II of the Telecommunications Act. He believes in the open internet for all individuals in his country. The idea of the open internet simply means that the full resources of the Internet are available to every individual and company. It encompasses the idea of net neutrality, open standards, pellucidity, low hurdles to entry and lack of internet expurgation (Maniadaki 124). The political parties that are in the United States have their views. According to the survey conducted across all genders, age, educat ion and race on net neutrality, most of them oppose the idea of net neutrality. The 81 percent of the American persons oppose the idea of fast lane deals by the internet providers. It brings to a statistics that 81 percent of the Democrats and 85 percent of the Republicans oppose the idea of the first lane. The public opinion on the matter is also divided. Most of them supported the idea of the internet being treated equally. They considered the Internet to be treated as a utility (Choi and Byung 132). However, the proponents of the public suggested that the ne neutrality is a great step that keeps the internet speed equally to all persons. The big corporation is prohibited from the manipulation of the internet services. It also shields the small business and the consumers from the exploitation of the Internet service providers and content providers. Conversely, the opponents in the public opinion were on the view that the government is trying to control the data presented on the in ternet. According to them the net neutrality is away of the government filtering the incoming data from illegal and slowing down of the content. All in all everyone has an opinion (Nunziato 45).The different politicians and citizens of the United States had a proposal on the issue of the net neutrality. The first proposal was to amend the communications act of 1934, in order to establish a countrywide broad band policy (Newcombe and Dawn 78). It will assist great deal in protecting the rights of the consumers thriving investment and innovation of the individuals in the country. It was supported by the law makers of the Republicans, on condition that the law transformation not to negatively impact the success of the internet. The citizens and the law makers want the internet service providers to be responsible in their action. They should not alter the contents of the internet or not to block or discriminate upon the users of the internet. The state is also given the authority to ma intain the freedom of using the broadband telecommunication network without restriction from network providers (Marsden 84). The broad band has to be within the reach of the consumers and providers to give content without discrimination.
